This tour will lead us to one of the most preserved floodplain areas of Central Europe included in both the Ramsar list of Important wetlands as well as the Important Bird Areas list. The Morava river floodplain in Zahorie region is a unique bird sanctuary, 118 out of 176 bird species recorded here nest in the area. Hike across wet meadows, oxbow lakes, hard wood and soft wood floodplain forests and the unique pine forests covering the sand dunes. Spot the typical inhabitants, such as Black Kite, Red Kite, Black Stork, White Stork, Little Bittern, Redshank and many other species typical in these habitats. Listen to the stories originating from the time of the Iron Curtain, the communism time not so long ago. The nearby National Nature Reserve Devinska Kobyla will give you the chance to spend an afternoon birdwatching in a habitat of Bee - eater, Sand Martin and Black Woodpecker.
